Another hot pot chain from China has opened down here (30 Victoria Street #B1-01). The transliterated "Dolar Shop" name is unfortunate though, as it clearly is not a budget variety store. Maybe that's why some of their signage referred to them as "Broth & Beyond," but it's still confusing.

Anyway, the food was fine, and arguably not that different from other shops aside from the individual pots as well as a big "market table" spread featuring not just the usual dipping sauce condiments and fruits, but also an "animal jelly" dessert station. The broth and ingredients were otherwise fine.

They are currently doing a lunch set right now that is pretty good, as S$19.90 (US$14.90) gets you not just a broth, protein, and veggie platter, but also access to that aforementioned spread without additional charges. It looks much more affordable than the a la carte menu for dinner.
