Stopping by Usman for Some Haleem
I wasn't intentionally going for
Pakistani food again. But I was walking up Serangoon Road today when the thought of some of
Usman's delicious haleem sounded pretty darned good today. Plus, the chicken and potatoes in the case looked decent too, so I grabbed some of those while I was at it.
And delicious it was, especially that
haleem. I really need to eat it more often: it's rich, savory, earthy, spicy, citrusy, and salty all at the same time (and yes, it still reminds me of chicken pot pie, but in paste form and spiked with spices).
Bismillah has
haleem on their menu too; I should try it sometime.
