13 Stages in Singapore

This small two-outlet chain from a local celebrity has a weird name. Apparently it's because they serve thirteen different types of coffee from each of the states in Malaysia...as well as seven different types of chicken rice. I went for the first one on the list: imperial ginger chicken, whose topping was a bit like Soup Restaurant's samsui chicken. Fortunately, the meat was pretty tender and moist, especially since it had been steamed.
But it was also a bit sweet. So was the soup. And the chili sauce. My "imperial" coffee wasn't sweet, but that's because I explicitly asked for it that way. Fortunately, the coffee was rather balanced without being acidic, and the rice was pretty good too, even if it was a bit more scrawny and garlicky than I would like. Nonetheless, it was an affordable and reasonable meal to have on a lunch break.
