Zionsville Day 8
After leaving Nauvoo, we drove three hours southeast to the town of Champagne, Illinois where we stopped for the night and then drove the other hour and forty-five minutes to Zionsville. Since our friends were at work, we headed straight to this cool park I had found on the internet called Holiday Park. Holiday Park is one of the coolest city parks I have ever been too. We didn't even see a fraction of the park as there is a nature center and nature trails also located in the park. It was so hot. Then we stopped at Subway and grabbed some sandwiches before heading to the park where we would meet our friends later that evening. Zionsville is seriously one of the cutest towns I have ever been too. The city makes me hopeful that we are restoring Americas little city-town centers that lost favor when the Mall was introduced. I love all the cute boutiques, restaurants, and shops. After grabbing a slice of cake at Lemon Bar cafe, we headed over to Lions Park which on that day was the epitome of small-town America. A softball game was in session with parents on the sidelines cheering on their player. Hotdogs and ice cream was being in the concession stand and siblings were playing on the play equipment. As day turned into evening the temperatures lent to comfortable and we were joined by our friends. The last time we saw them they had one child and one on the way and now they have three. It was so good to see them; especially since we didn't get a chance to say goodbye to them since they moved while we were in Germany. After playing in the park, we ate dinner at Bubs Burger home to the 22-pound burger and then ice cream from Scoop. It was a perfect day. Next stop on our journey was Kirtland, Ohio.thus Article Zionsville Day 8
